What you need to know.
When will the club go 24/7?
The 24 hour conversion will be complete shortly with an official launch date of 13th November 2015
Which parts of the club will be accessible?
The majority of the club will still be available for use after hours, including cardio, strength, free-weights, group fitness studio, abs/stretch and bathrooms. Areas such as the cycle studio, creche and various offices/rooms will be restricted after hours.
What will the cost be?
Since most members will want to take advantage of the flexibility of 24/7 access, we’ve purposefully kept costs as low as possible. There will be NO increase to your fortnightly membership fees. There will simply be a one off payment of $39 for the access card that will be direct debited from your bank account or card on the 5th November 2015. Please note however, that there is no obligation to have a 24hr access card. As such, if you don’t believe you will want to use the club outside of the staffed hours (see below) or have already purchased one, please register your name HERE. If we haven’t received notification by 8:00pm Tuesday 3rd November, we will assume you want the fob.
You may pick up your new access card as of Tuesday 10th November but please allow a few minutes to complete a quick safety checklist/orientation and take a profile photo for our access control system (if we don’t have it already).
Who is eligible?
All current members of the club are eligible to take advantage of the 24 hour access.
Are the other MyFitness Clubs 24/7?
Yes! Sippy Downs was the first of the clubs to undertake the conversion with the majority of members opting for a 24/7 access card, followed by our Broadbeach club. The feedback from both clubs’ members has been extremely positive and we trust you will enjoy the same benefits too.
What are the staffed hours if I need to speak to someone about my membership?
The club will be staffed during the following times:
Monday – Friday: 5:45am – 7:30pm
Saturday: 6am – 10:30am
Sunday: not staffed (24/7 card access only)
Can I buy drinks after hours?
You sure can! We will be installing a vending machine in the coming weeks.
Can I share my access card?
Absolutely NOT! For security purposes, it is extremely important that you do not share your card. Your card is unique to you and your membership. Sharing access cards is a breach of your membership and penalties will apply.
What if I need emergency assistance after hours?
A comprehensive emergency/first aid panel will be available for use after hours. You will be able to contact our security company directly from within the club, if so required.
Can I use the club more than once per day?
Absolutely! However, please be advised that your 24 hour access card can only be ‘scanned’ once every 20 minutes so make sure you have everything you need before entering the club!
What if I want to bring a friend who is not a member?
During staffed hours, friends that are local residents and over 18 years of age may be eligible for a free trial. All free trials will need to be activated by the club membership team. It’s often best to ring and arrange this beforehand to save some time. Alternatively, a casual visit is $20. Friends and guests are not permitted to use the club outside of staffed hours.
Can I do personal training after hours?
Yes but it will depend on the availability and discretion of the trainer you nominate as to whether they operate outside of staffed hours.
Do I need to put my weights away?
As sure as the sun will rise, you must always put your weights and equipment away. Please be respectful of other members and the facility. Remember guys, we now have cameras and can monitor those not doing the right thing.
How safe is it to train after hours?
As mentioned above, a direct link to security and emergency services will be available in the club, including two-way audio for assistance. The entrance of the club will be illuminated and internal cameras operate at all times.
Is my access card refundable if I leave?
Unfortunately every member is allocated a unique card number and therefore, the card can not be returned, refunded or reused.
How do I enter the club?
Access to the club outside of staffed hours will still be via the current front entry doors. An access control scanner will be located next to the door for entry after hours. During staffed hours, please use either your 24 hour fob (if you have one) or your standard membership tag to scan in with reception.
How do you know that it’s me entering the club?
When issued with your 24 hours access card, we will take your photo which will show up on our systems when you scan in. After hours entries are reviewed by the club on a daily basis.
Can I still use the lockers?
Yes! Bathrooms will still be accessible outside of staffed hours. A duress button and two-way audio will be available in the bathrooms should you require emergency assistance.
